Working mums day
It’s Working Mum’s Day on Monday 28 September.
An annual survey carried out by Mums in Control has found that the economic downturn has had no significant impact on the number of mumpreneurs starting out.
“Our Working Mums’ Day survey shows that mumpreneurs are more in control of their businesses and their lives” Rachael Taplin, managing director of Mums in Control, says.
“Those who have seen an increase in profits over the last 12 months said that this was as a result of a greater focus on what they need to achieve to succeed.’’
The survey found that 65 per cent of mums who run their own business were mainly driven by the having more flexibility to spend quality time with their children.
Four in five mums found that since they began working for themselves, their work life balance had improved.
A whopping 86 per cent of working mums feel that British business is not committed to flexible working.
