Working mums looking forward to traditional Christmas

Despite a busy life juggling working around their family, a whopping 90 per cent of employed mums will be looking forward to spending Christmas day at home with family and friends.

A survey carried out on behalf of beautiful craft book Custard and Crayons, found that mothers are looking forward to a very traditional Christmas.

Working mums will be making their own cards and decorations, with 84 per cent planning spending time with their kids making their own festive arts and crafts.

Dr Linda Papadopoulos who has written the foreword for Custard & Crayons said: “Religious or not, Christmas is that one universal moment in time which allows parents to refocus on the importance of the simplicity of just spending time with their children.  For many people, this year there seems to be a real sense of nostalgia about Christmas and all the family traditions associated with it.

“It is an absolute truth that for children the greatest gift their parents can give them is time.  When time spent with them is as precious as it is for most working mums, it is great to know that they are intent on making it quality time.  The results of the survey show that they are determined this Christmas to connect with their kids in a way that inspires them to think, feel and be creative.”

Traditional is back this year with only 50 per cent of mums planning to plonk down in front of the TV with their children or just 9 per cent spending time with kids in front of the computer.
