Transport safety researchers are calling for parent help to improve child safety in cars
Parents are being asked to help safety experts on a project designed to improve child safety in cars.
Academics at the Transport Safety Research Centre at Loughborough University, need parents and carers who drive with a child in the car to complete an anonymous online survey.
The results will contribute to Europe-wide project CASPER – Child Advanced Safety Project for European Roads – which is working on developing better child restrains in cars.
Researcher Alan Kirk said: “The CASPER project aims to reduce fatalities and injuries of children when travelling in cars. The online survey will help us ensure that the research we carry out is as relevant to the real world as possible.
“If you drive with a child or children below the age of 12, the team at Loughborough would really appreciate it if you could take part in the survey and pass it on to friends and family.
“Some demographic questions are asked but the survey is anonymous and cannot be linked back to the person filling it in.’’
