Christmas cards to the National Grid
Campaigners are urging North Somerset residents to send alternative Christmas cards to the National Grid opposing a planned new high voltage power line.
The SAVE Our Valley campaigners (SOV) are fighting attempts to construct pylons through 25 Somerset towns and villages, including Nailsea, Backwell and Wraxall.
Save Our Valley spokeswoman, Sue Turner, said: “We’re asking everyone to send an extra Christmas Card to National Grid objecting to their plans for pylons around Nailsea, Backwell and Wraxall and we’ve put some ideas on our website in case people are stuck for words.”
SOV are concerned that the National Grid are not listening to resident concerns having decided it is too much hassle to put cables undersea or underground.
