Alexandra Burke takes starring role in Sister Act at The Bristol Hippodrome later this year

Alexandra Burke may only be wowing audiences in Bristol as Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard until this Saturday, but her return to the theatre later this year has just been announced.

The popular X Factor winner will be playing the role of Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act in a UK tour later this year.

The production will be directed and chorographed by Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood.

The show features original new songs and is based on the hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg as a cabaret singing seeking protection at Maggie Smith’s convent after witnessing a murder.

Alexandra  Burke says: “I’m over the moon to be given the opportunity to play the wonderful Deloris in Sister Act. It’s such an iconic role and a part I’ve always wanted to play. I love touring the UK and I’m thrilled to be working with Craig and his amazing creative team. I can’t wait to get started!”
