Average Age of Tablet Ownership now Down to Early Years
Yes it’s parent judging time. And there’s nothing more likely to cause a metaphorical bun fight than children and technology.
A survey by VoucherCodesPro.co.uk, found the average age of tablet ownership by UK children was down to 2 years and 1 month. The average of smartphone ownership in children is now 7 years and 9 months.
But more than half of the parents who let their child have a phone at this age actually felt they were too young though it was unfair to let them be left out.
The main reason for giving gadgets at young ages was to keep them distracted and entertained when babies or toddlers.
Of course half of those who bought the devices for their children knew that it probably wasn’t good for them.
A total of 44 per cent were concerned that their child was always glued to the phone and 37 per cent felt that technology was taking over their lives in a particularly unhealthy way.
