Average child’s birthday party costs £350

The news that the average child’s birthday party costs over £350 will have lots of cash strapped parents nodding in agreement.

These parties for children aged ten years and under quickly built up costs when entertainers, presents and other associated party costs were all taken into consideration.

The findings by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, came from nearly 2000 parents with a children between the age of 2 and 10 years.

Results showed that 91 per cent of parents had celebrated their child’s most recent birthday with a form of party.

The average costs came to:

Presents for child- £156.30

Party Food- £73.20

Cake- £22.33

Party Activities/ Entertainment or Venue Hire- £90.20

Party Gifts- £15.92

Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, Mark Pearson advised parents to look out for deals and venues and group booking discounts.  “Do some savvy shopping, and find yourself a birthday bargain,” he says.
