Bristol allocated £186,000 to fill city’s potholes
Bristol will finally be getting funds to fill potholes after being allocated £186,000 from the Department For Transport (DFT).
A total of £250M was put into the Pothole Action Fund in the 2016 Budget for councils across the country to target problem potholes during the next 12 months.
In Bristol alone 3,509 potholes will be filled and 150,000 across the entire South West.
Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin said: “I know how important well-maintained roads are to people across the South West. Almost every journey starts and ends on a local road, so the government is giving councils in the South West £8.4 million specifically to tackle the blight of potholes in their area.
