More children are wearing second hand clothes than one generation ago
It’s not uncommon these days for parents to be seen handing over bursting bags of children’s clothing to each other in playgroups and school playgrounds.
That would tally up with claims by ACE, who surveyed 1000 UK parents about where they acquired their kids’ clothes and found more children are wearing preloved items than one generation ago.
According to their findings, 70 per cent of parents are happy to accept second hand clothes, or hand me downs.
But a only 55 per cent of these parents remembered being allowed to wear second hand clothes when they were children.
As ACE is a household cleaning product, they definitely looked at how parents washed clothes.
According to their findings, 27 per cent of parents are throwing away clothes that haven’t be cared for property.
Apparently, there is something called a stain remover, which 24 per cent of us are not regularly using in the wash causing 7 per cent to bin a white school shirt once a month.
