But the first bagel protector has been created by the New York Bakery Co, offering a viable alternative option to soggy sandwiches.
In the UK, sales of bagels have risen by 44 per cent during the last year. A need to protect them and transport them was recognised. And so, the bagel protector was born.
The company have been trialling them through Facebook giveaways and they are sure to be a hit.
The protector is a sturdy circular plastic case, with a hole through the middle, keeping the bagel in place. The lid clips on the top.
The New York Bakery Co, take an innovative approach to spreading the bagel message. In recent weeks, Londoners have had the opportunity to win their lunch, with a bagel grabbing machine popping up in places across the capital.
