Deadly Doris at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery to Come to a Close
Deadly Doris is heading for extinction again, as the popular Pliosaurus! exhibition at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery comes to a close.
The exhibition opened at the Bristol venue on June 17 last year and will close its doors for the last time on Sunday 18 February 2018.
Doris is an eight metre long Pliosaurus fossil from Bristol’s Jurassic period 150 million years ago. She was discovered in Westbury, Wiltshire in 1994 and spent the last eight months on public display for the first time.
Because of the large size of the dinosaur, it took ten years to prepare all the pieces of the fossil that was discovered.
The exhibition at the museum not only features the fossil, but a life size recreation, projections and lots of interactive sections ideal for children aged 3-11 years.
There’s just one week left to visit the experience, which coincides with Bristol schools’ half term date.
