Flooring Shop Horrified that people eat dropped food
Anyone who has ever dropped a chocolate eclair on the floor is most likely to be in the 81 per cent of people who have happily eaten food off the floor.
A poll of UK adults by DiscountFlooringDepot.co.uk, worries that people are putting their health at risk by believing they can eat food that has been on the floor.
According to their findings, 39 per cent of people believe the myth that the Three Second Rule protects them from harmful bacteria.
People are least likely to scrape food off the floor in public, with 17 per cent happy to do this in front of others compared to 64 per cent who do it at home alone.
A 39 per cent of people admitted to eating food that moved closer to gravity because their floors were clean, whilst 26 per cent didn’t want to cook again.
Marketing manager at DiscountFlooringDepot.co.uk, Andrew Nesbitt has clearly never dropped chocolate cake on the floor saying: “It’s shocking how many are happy to consume food off the floor. The research suggests that as many as 81% have potentially ingested harmful household bugs that build-up on floors and surfaces, such as salmonella and E.coli.”
