Great British Dog Walk Running This Month to Raise Funds for Hearing Dogs
A special series of dog walks will be taking place across this UK this year in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
A total of 20 countryside walks have been mapped out as part of Great British Dog Walk, taking place between March and June 2017.
The aim is to train more specialist hearing dogs to help deaf children and adults lead independent lives.
Last year around 4000 adults took part in the event with more than 500 dogs. This year’s event has been created to make sure there is a route suitable for everyone.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People chief executive Michele Jennings said: “The charity is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and is very proud to have had such a positive impact on thousands of lives. But we couldn’t have achieved what we have without the help of our wonderful supporters taking part in events such as the Great British Dog Walk and the dedication of all our volunteers.
“Following the success of last year’s events, I hope the 2017 walks in our great British countryside get tails wagging and faces smiling all over the UK.”
The venues taking part will have refreshments and entertainment and dog walkers are welcome to bring a picnic.
