In Memory Of Bristol’s Major Filming Location Which Is Now Gone
The major Bristol filming location has been flattened
Most beloved by the production companies behind the gritty detective drama and even Being Human at one point, the former Bank of England building and former Norwich Union House in central Bristol is no more.
They have both been demolished to make way for the new, and really quite controversial, St Mary le Port development at the edge of Castle Park.
It has meant the end of the line for one of Bristol’s most popular filming locations.
@chopsybristoltt What looks like The Crow Girl continuning to film in Bristol today #thecrowgirl #bristol #bristoluk #bristolfilming #tvshow #crimedrama #filmmaking #filminglocation #filmindustry #bristolfilm #bristollife #castlepark #tvpolice ? Sound of Da Police – Rapmosfieryk
One of its last – if not last – filming dates was for The Crow Girl series 1.
The buildings were the location of the Bristol Metropolitan Police.

Going, going and gone… the area is now completely flattened ready for the next stage of development. Hopefully one that will have a taste of masonry in the air.
