Ivory towered flyers want kids off

A child deciding to throw a screaming tantrum on a flight is a nightmare for both parents and other passengers

So much so, that 59 per cent of travellers want a family only section on aeroplanes.

68 per cent of those who didn’t have children were very keen on the idea, but only 31 per cent of parents liked the idea of allocated seating.

The poll of 2000 travellers by Skyscanner found that some non-parents felt strongly enough that only well-behaved children should be allowed to travel, with others preferring entirely child-free flights.

Amen to Skyscanner PR Manager Mary Porter, who says: “As a relatively new mum myself I can still remember that feeling of dread when you found yourself seated next to a baby on a long flight; however since regularly flying with my one year old, I am much more aware of what a stressful, and often embarrassing, situation it can be for parents.”
