MINISO Bristol Cabot Circus Store Opens

The new store attracted a lot of excitement with people coming from outside of Bristol for a peek

It’s MINISO’s first store in Bristol, which – along with a free gift bag – attracted a huge amount of attention in Cabot Circus this week.

The popular store sells a whole range of products featuring Kawaii characters. Anime, Kawaii and East Asian pop culture is a niche missing from Bristol since the building housing Forbidden Planet caught fire in December last year.

The biggest shopping opportunity in Bristol for such brands other than Japonicat in St Nicholas Market, has been the twice yearly Bristol Anime & Gaming Con.

Some of the characters we spotted inside included those from Sanrio, Hello Kitty, Pusheen, Cinnamoroll, Care Bears, Snoopy, Minions and BT21.

The store opening attracted crowds of young people and families right into the evening, with further large queues for the tills inside.
