The Rainbow Bridge – Montpelier Street Art
Montpelier is a hub for creative street art
With its long history of street art and laid-back vibe, Montpelier is a popular place for its canvas of creativity.
Art can be seen on the sides of houses in the form of large murals. Back gates can also be found decked out in painted pictures as well as along the walls of Montpelier’s cobbled side streets. Picton Street is another place where some lovely pieces have been and new ones can be found. This includes work by Alex Lucas and Farrah Fortnam.
Not to forget the Albert Park Camel, which is used as a homing beacon for those lost in BS6.

The Rainbow Bridge is another canvas for street art. Since the rainbow design itself was covered over, it has re-emerged with lots of smaller pieces of street art as well as a lot of tagging.
The pedestrian bridge is located across the train tracks between Fairlawn Road and Hurlingham Road, connecting Montpelier to St Andrew’s.

It makes an interesting backdrop for photography with its industrial feel and inner city vibe.
