Mums in Business: Little Pinkies
Personalised Jewellery has become incredibly popular over the last few years. With beautifully crafted prints worked into silver jewellery, it’s not really a surprise that it has caught the imagination and hearts of mums.
Capturing a child’s fingerprint, footprint and presenting it in silver jewellery for birthdays, Christenings or anniversaries are perfect for parents. It is even possible for the jewellery to be silver hallmarked.
North London mum and MumsClub member Fiona Davies, set up her own business turning prints into jewellery when she realised she was no longer able to work and mother two small children with a third one on the way.
“ I needed something that would give me full flexibility to work the hours that suited” says Fiona.
Initially, Little Pinkies started life creating finger print jewellery at national exhibitions and wedding fairs. Soon the business expanded and Little Pinkies now hosts the popular jewellery making sessions at children’s parties and other larger events across the area.

Busy mum Fiona, runs her jewellery during school hours
“I fit family in around email, school runs and work, when the kids are sleeping and at weekends” Fiona explains.
“I choose to make jewellery as it was something I had been doing for a long time and knew I could make it work as a small business.”
With her successful jewellery business established, Fiona is now branching out into Cremation Urn Jewellery. Highly popular in America, it is now starting to take off in the UK. Cremation Urn lockets are made from gold or silver. They then unscrew to add small amounts of cremated ash from a loved one or pet.
