Mums let their children play on smartphones to shut them up

Drinks, toys and dummies are being ditched as pacifiers by parents, who are resorting to smartphones to quieten kids.

Findings from Asda shows that 27 per cent of mums regularly use their phone to entertain little ones.

Shockingly, one in ten mums are letting their children regularly play with the device between one and two hours per day.

The phone is passed over to entertain children when they get up early, or to keep them quiet out and about.
