Mums paid to graffiti
A new website that pays women for their articles has just launched.
The site PowderRoomGraffiti, pays women who don’t regard themselves as professional writers.
Women can submit their articles to the site whose editorial policy sees the content moving away from trashy celebrity chat and weight issues to cover topics from female masturbation to arranging a funeral for someone you didn’t actually like when they were alive.
In the age group 25-34 years, 55 per cent of the total internet use is by women. Plenty of these will be mums and PowderRoomGraffiti certainly has room for their views.
Blogger Clare Taylor said: “It’s great that PowderRoomGraffiti has given me this chance both to express myself outside the world of ‘Mummy-dom’ and to experience writing to someone else’s guidelines. Plus, I get paid to do so, which is always motivating for a writer! As a blogger I have plenty of opportunity to write, but since mine is a parenting blog, it’s ‘all about the kids’. PowderRoomGraffiti allows me to write editorially on all sorts of things that interest or concern me.”
