Mums still experience negative reactions to breastfeeding
Barriers to breastfeeding are coming down, but mums are still experiencing negative reactions.
Research commissioned by NHS Choices, found that 99 per cent of mothers believed they should be able to breastfeed their child anywhere.
The survey polled 1500 women as part of the launch of a new range of breastfeeding support packages available on the NHS website.
Whilst 96 per cent of mothers said they did breastfeed in public, 16 per cent said they had experienced negative reactions.
Women reported being started at, tutted at or even receiving rude comments.
Some mothers had even been told to leave the place they were feeding in.
