Pregnant women eating up to 600 extra calories
Pregnant women are troughing too many extra calories, using the nine months as an excuse to chow down things they fancy.
According to a poll of more than 1,000 UK women, MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, found 52 per cent of women are eating an extra 400 – 500 calories a day and 37 per cent a whopping 500 – 600 calories.
According to NHS advice, pregnant women need not consume extra calories until the third trimester, which should only then increase by 200 calories per day.
Chocolate was the food 37 per cent ate with abundance during pregnancy which they didn’t eat normally, followed by 21 per cent eating sweets and 14 per cent hitting the ice cream.
