New safety insert for transporting babies

Child seat manufacturer Britax, have developed a new insert for their Baby Safe sleeper in light of the results of new research.

In an independent study commissioned by Britax, European paediatrician, Dr Philippe Meyer looked for the safest and healthiest ways to transport newborn babies by car.

Dr Meyer discovered that a very small or premature baby may not fit as securely into an infant carrier or travel cot as larger babies. They also had greater difficulty being able to support their head.

The new design by Britax took this into consideration designing the Baby-Safe sleeper to allow the baby to lie flat keeping their airway open.
