New year resolutions ditched within seven days

We may only be in the first week of the new year, but those promises made in the echos of Auld Lang Syne are most probably long forgotten.

According to Dairy brand Clover, one in five people had broken their new year resolution by midnight on the 2nd of January and 53 per cent had given up within the very first week.

The most popular resolutions were to exercise more, lose weight, give up smoking, eat less chocolate and give more cash to charity.
