Parents can’t afford childcare after second child
Families are having to cut down their working hours due to the extortionate cost of childcare.
With figures from the Office of National Statistics showing the majority of families in the UK have two children , it is little surprise that research from a study by Aviva finds that four in ten families feel it is not worth both parents working full time.
The study of 1000 parents found that 57 per cent of those who cut their hours or didn’t return to work after the birth of their first child did so simply to spend more time raising them.
When it comes to the second child, financial factors including costly childcare was the reason stopping parents returning to the work place.
