Reception Age Children say Their First Swear Words
We wrap them up in their smart new uniform. Fill our Facebook page with their angelic, excited First Day pics. Then they come home with delightful phrases such as Surprise M**********r.
According to a survey by VoucherCodesPro.co.uk, it’s the tender age of four years that children are most likely to say their first swear word. And, 62 per cent of parents blame watching inappropriate TV shows or movies.
A total of 2,350 parents with children from 5 years upwards took part in the poll, with a majority 32 per cent having a child whose first cuss word was f*ck.
A rather tame Damn came in at second place with 28 per cent. Sh*t came third with 14 per cent, Crap was fourth and perfectly solid twat was in last place with 9 per cent.
According to the parents taking part, most blamed TV, 18 per cent blamed their peers with just 6 per cent admitting they were probably overheard by their child. A rather low number considering 68 per cent actually said they regularly swore in front of their own child.
