Residents will be coming out in force next week to demonstrate against the proposed North Street Tesco.

The group will walk the length of North Street, then in to the entrance of Bristol City Football Club, where the proposed development will be.
The official planning application to build the superstore on the Ashton Gate stadium site has been submitted to the council and local residents are being urged to write in with objections.

The sale of the existing location for the Robins would be a major cash boost to fund the new stadium. It is hoped to be a venue for World Cup games in 2018 should should the Football Association win its bid to host the tournament.
The official deadline for comments is 9 September 2009. The planning application and lodging an objecting is here: http://e2eweb.bristol.gov.uk/PublicAccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_detailview.aspx?caseno=KODA82DN08900
