Second hand baby shop Keynsham Bristol opened by Practically Perfect

A Bristol business mum, has seen the success of her fledgling retail store grow so successfully, that a second branch is due to open this summer.

Katy Westbury opened the immensely popular Practically Perfect, at Broadwalk in Knowle less than a year ago. Since then, the shop’s reputation for selling high quality second hand baby essentials at reasonable prices, has seen the demand for a second store to open.

The second branch of Practically Perfect, is to open on Temple Street in Keynsham. The area is perfect for mums and mums to be, with a maternity bra fitting service next door and a new soft play centre located opposite.

For those who have not yet visited the Knowle branch, Katy sells brand new essentials as well as pre-loved, gently worn baby wear and equipment.

The shop’s contents are ordered into neat sections: travel, new baby, sleep, play, clothes, shoes and gifts.

In each section, you can find brand new stock such as toddler tights, rain covers, cot mattresses, moses basket mattresses, bedding, a full safety range of Clippa Safe and new baby hospital items such as scratch mits and hats.

Second hand but perfectly conditioned shoes, clothes, prams and baby carriers can also be found alongside  high chairs, safety gates and buggy boards.

The second hand prams stocked must meet British Safety Standards and electrical items have to come boxed with instructions.

Practically Perfect does not stock car seats or toys, but you can get baby play mats, cot mobiles and baby walkers.

Katy has strict rules when it comes to buying stock. All items are sold as seen and must be practically perfect and gently used.

She was the first person in the area to implement a system where she buys her stock outright from parents and does not work on a commission basis.

To make the entire operation run like clockwork, parents who are interested in selling items to Katy are asked to phone and make an appointment to view with her.

The shop has a busy turn over of shoppers and browsers. By booking appointments to view, Katy can then dedicate time to her customers and sellers alike.

Items are viewed by appointment only.

Items must be practically perfect or gently used.

Whilst baby walkers and play mats are accepted, toys are not.

Electrical items must be boxed with instructions and prams carry British Safety Standards.

Katy can either come to your address, or will arrange a time for you to pop in the shop and meet her.
