Top beach destination Blackpool

BLACKPOOL is one of Britain’s top beach holidays attracting more than ten million visitors each year. This is no surprise considering the top tourist attractions include the Tower, illuminations and Pleasure Beach.
Throughout the summer, Blackpool is hosting loads of different events and activities, making it the perfect place for a day out or a family ‘staycation’.
The main event will be the English Beach Volleyball Masters, taking place between the 10th and 13th September, the competition is guaranteed to be a fun filled three days of Sun, Sea, and Sand. As well as our very own GB team, the event attracts players from across the continent, bringing with it a real party atmosphere, with lots of music, dancing and over-sized novelty foam fingers!

United Dance Organisation World Street Dance Championships
The weekend of the 28th – 30th August brings with it more sports and party action with both the British Kite Surfing Competition and the UDO (United Dance Organisation) World Street Dance Championships. The UDO event is a full weekend of street dance competition, catering for all levels and abilities, and as well as the ‘little and large’ category, parents are encouraged to get involved too. Each day there will be different demonstrations held by performance dancers and workshops by well known street dance celebrities.

The Blackpool Illuminations ‘turn on’ party is the 4th September, and then you can go out with a bang on the 6th, with the World Firework Championships. Throughout the summer the Pleasure Beach will of course be doing what it does best, meet with children’s characters such as Bob the Builder and Dora the Explorer, and with candy floss to hand you can ride the Big Dipper to your hearts content. As Blackpool has City Cycle Status, all cycle transport is completely FREE; so you can pick up a bike from the station and take in all the charms and nuances of the Great British Seaside as you cycle down the newly designed promenade.
