More shocking obesity news from the Department of Obesity

As part of the new Start4Life campaign aiming to support pregnant women and parents of babies into giving their families a healthier start, new guess work from the Department of Health reveals that three hundred new year’s day babies could grow up to be obese.

Public Health Minister, Gillian Merron is keen to take action against the new year fat menace.

She said: “Unless we take action, 1 in 5 babies likely to be born this New Year’s day could be obese by the time they start school.

“What happens in the first years of a baby’s life has a big effect on how healthy they are in the future.

Again, the campaign focuses on pushing mothers to breastfeed and not rush into weaning.

As part of the campaign, a short film showing the Change4Life plasticine characters will be screened on Baby TV.
