Review: Guess with Jess – Where did all the stars go?

For many years he was simply the silent companion of Postman Pat, helping to deliver Greendale’s mail. Now, Jess is back with his own Cbeebies series. Having ditched Pat, he and his friends look for the reasons behind the everyday science and nature phenomenon which fascinates children.

Out on DVD today, Guess with Jess – Where have all the stars gone? will help preschoolers learn more about how the world around them works.

There are six slickly animated ten minute episodes with each featuring a ‘Big Question’.

Of course, Jess manages to work out the answer to each of his puzzles with a cast of farmyard friends helping him out along the way.

Young viewers will learn with Jess where do the stars go? when and why the owl hoooooos? what  happened to the puddles? how to make the colour green? and where did his shadow playmate go?

The upbeat stories are impressively animated and thoroughly entertained the preschool viewers testing it out for Chopsy Baby.

Whilst Jess is broadening his knowledge, perhaps Greendale Farm’s Health and Safety brigade should check out their risk assessments.

One three-year-old girl was massively concerned that Jess jumping over the wall in the opening credits was “very dangerous, he could hurt himself.”
